Brief The project was created for a client, The Heritage School, based Gurugram in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi, India, and was aimed at generating awareness about air pollution resulting from excessive use of firecrackers to celebrate Diwali, one of India’s most popular festivals. The target audience was students, parents, teachers, the school’s other stakeholders and the general public.
Scale & Location The ‘Think before you light one’ print campaign relied heavily on posters to communicate its message. The campaign was also used in print products such as newsletters, and so on.Posters were displayed prominently around the school and across public spaces in the city of Gurugram a few days before Diwali. It succeeded in starting conversations and received appreciation.
Solution
Over the last few years, air pollution levels in Delhi have reached extremely dangerous proportions, especially around Diwali. We used colorful firecracker wrapping to create dead animals and birds which were photographed and used in the campaign to drive home the point that air pollution is fatal for all life.
