CEO and Principal Designer, Lopez Design
Can designer-dreams have foundations in fonts? When most youngsters his age were playing with letters on a Scrabble board, Anthony Lopez was stacking up cast metal typefaces and leads, learning to measure with pica scales. His father had propitiously introduced him to the world of printing. Lopez became adept in dark room techniques, handling a camera with ease even before he joined the National Institute of Design in 1983.
A State basketball champ, swift to get the ball in the hoop, Anthony Lopez plays the game of design as well with team-spirit, diligence and dedication. Hands-on experience and professional design practice run in tandem for this designer. Once the ardent drummer of his college jazz band, today he sets the rhythm for the energetic pace at his enterprise winning the American Design Award and The Business World Design Excellence Award. Lopez Design was one of the first to offer a package deal of branding and visual design.
Their clients include: DHL, PwC, Mercer, Ernst & Young, United Biscuits, the Murugappa Group, Sify, The Telegraph (Anand Bazar Patrika Group), Kuoni Travels, Whirlpool and social organizations like UNICEF, WHO, USAID. Committed to social change, Lopez conceptualized the Big Shit Project in 2013, a massive collaborative effort to end open defecation in India. Lopez can claim the fame of being a nervous public speaker no more, delivering talks at Kyoorius Design Yatra, The Sri Lanka Design Festival, Design X Design Forum and Pecha Kucha’s ID 2014 Symposium. At NIFT and NID, he has mentored aspiring designers.
For this conscientious designer, design is about defining how we live. The team at Lopez Design is driven by excellence and quality. Crossing every turnstile, Lopez always delivers.
