Tania Singh Khosla is the Founder and Design Director of tsk Design, a leading brand and communication design firm in Bangalore, India. She received a BA in Studio Art from Mount Holyoke College, and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University, after which she returned to India to establish the firm in 1997.
tsk Design has created exciting brand solutions for some of India’s leading companies across corporate, education and hospitality businesses, while in parallel engaging with design for culture and the arts. Some significant projects include, branding MAP: Museum of Art and Photography, slated to become a pivotal museum and cultural hub in Bangalore; curating and designing Living, The Park Magazine for a leading collection of boutique hotels; and rebranding Biocon, India’s pioneering biotechnology company. Select clients include WeWork, SAP, Sandisk, Asian Paints, Taj Hotels, The British Council and MTV amongst others.
A rapidly evolving urban Indian landscape and a culture that is rooted in its unique sense of self, creates exciting possibilities for business and design. Responding to this dynamic context, the firm aims to enable effective outcomes through design that is articulate, relevant and beautifully crafted. Both in and outside the commercial practice, the firm is inspired by and draws from local sensibilities, both cultural and visual – such as in ABC Desi, a uniquely Indian alphabet book; Paro, Good Earths’ beautiful new well-being brand; and Curry, a quirky hybrid font combing Devanagiri and Uncial.
The firm’s work has been showcased at international exhibitions, some of which include Global Localat the V&A (London), Wallpaper’s GlobalEdit at Salone Del Mobile (Milan) and Experimenta Design (Lisbon). tsk Design has been featured in numerous international publications including Creative Review, Eye, Wallpaper, Contemporist and How; books such as India Contemporary Design (Roli Books, India), Indian Design (Daab, Netherlands) and Night Fever (Frame Publications, Amsterdam). Awards include in-book winner at Kyoorious Creative Awards, winner at EDIDA, Elle Deco International Design Awards and winner at Designomics.
Tania Singh Khosla has been a speaker at ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts, London), ID (India Design, Delhi), TEDX Mais (Bangalore), Kyoorius Design Yatra (Goa) and Indian Design Forum (British Council, Delhi). She has been on the jury of the D&AD Awards, Dubai Lynx and Kyoorius Design Awards. Khosla has been visiting critic at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology.
