Brief Dalda the undisputed market leader, lost out to competition in the last decade. Dalda wanted to become relevant for people again. They decided to capture the imagination of the largest market of edible oil in the country – Orissa. Nothing gets rural India (our demographic) together like pilgrimage, hence Jagannath Rath Yatra (JRY) in Puri was chosen as the touchpoint.
Solution
We captured the imagination of people in Orrisa by giving them the DARSHAN at JRY they desired.We re-modeled the DALDA bottles into high power telescopes that could zoom into more than 500 meter allowing devotees to get Darshan from any spot on yatra route. Additionally we distributed Prasad outsourced from the temples in packaged Dalda bottles to get a coveted spot at the temple in their homes.
