Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather
Kainaz started her career in FCB Ulka. She was napping when she got the call. Of course she did not answer because she loves her naps. Luckily they called again, this time when she was awake. This has been the signature for all her jobs. Every time she got a call for a job she was asleep! Luckily all her bosses decided to look beyond that and hired her anyway.
In the year 2000 she joined Leo Burnett where she met Agnello Dias. She owes a huge amount of gratitude to him for showing her almost all the nuts and bolts of good writing. In 2003, while still in Leo Burnett, she wrote a film about saving tigers which got shortlisted for Cannes and Clio awards. She worked on some interesting brands there like Fiat, Bajaj, McDonald’s and Heinz.
In 2006, she moved to JWT where she worked until early 2010. The best thing that happened to her in JWT was teaming up with Harshad Rajadhyaksha. She cannot imagine working without him. He completes her ideas and her sentences.
Rin, Debeers and Godrej were some of her clients she at JWT. She along with her team, won a Cannes Gold for the public service campaign for Balwadi in 2009.
In 2010, she along with Harshad, took a job with Ogilvy Mumbai. She describes her time at Ogilvy as the happiest time of her career. Simply breathing the same air as Piyush Pandey has taught her so much, she believes. Kinu and Rajiv not only made her feel welcome but also trusted and wanted. The culture of placing work above all else is what keeps her madly in love with Ogilvy. While she looks after a motley crew of brands like Savlon, Brookebond, ICICI Lombard, Cadbury, Amazon and a dozen more, she firmly encourages her team to do work led by their heart. This drove her team to produce the much awarded and honestly effective #endacidsale campaign in the August of 2015.
Beauty Tips by Reshma took the world by storm. Every major global media wrote about it and every major award recognised it. Cannes Gold in Film, Cannes Glass Lion, One Show PR Gold and D & AD IMPACT are just some of the accolades the campaign has earned. She believes these awards are important not just for the reputation of her agency but every recognition is a shout for the cause. Kainaz is a workaholic and she is neither shy nor apologetic about it. However, when she has a free day, she watches movies by Woody Allen, reads books by Gabriel Garcia and enjoys coffee made by her neighbourhood coffee shop.
