Brief The intent of the film was to create excitement leading up to the launch of the new Beetle in India by leveraging its expansive heritage and its continued love through the years. Its target audience was existing Beetle owners looking to upgrade, HNIs and Beetle fans across India. In India, the Beetle is revered within a niche community and is bought largely for its emotional and cultural appeal.
Solution
The Beetle isn’t just a car. It’s a cultural phenomenon. Throughout the 20th century, it has earned itself a fanatical cult following. So when the Beetle returned to India, we decided to pay a tribute to the rich legacy of the iconic car, to evoke nostalgia and pride amongst its fans. The copy articulates the eclectic moments and memories associated with the Beetle in history and pop culture.
